Choosing a Pub in Temple Bar So many bars in Temple Bar area. How to choose? Mainly it was a matter of avoiding the ones that were too full to be able to get through the door, or pumping out music so loud we couldn't speak or which had large groups of stag do’s and Top-Deck tourists in bad Irish hats or Viking horns. We didn't exactly choose Quays Bar. Instead we just randomly peered through the doors of a few pubs and and when we saw that this one had two great Irish folk singers, a lively atmosphere, space at the bar and was nicely full without being crammed in like sardines, we stayed. Perfect! More
Fun Place to Start We started our Irish Holiday at Quays and weren’t disappointed. Thursday night at 5 pm and the bar was packed. Mostly filled with tourists, a few young lads joined us from the financial district to have a pint or two after work. While a bit touristy, the music was good and bartenders very attentive. We’d highly recommend Quays over many of the other establishments in Temple Bar.
Best Pub in Temple Bar, Dublin This place was bouncing and full of decent folk listening to two brilliant musicians (guitarists & singers). Plenty of bar staff to cope with demand of the mixture of locals, young and older. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Loved and highly recommend The Quays, which will be our first port of call next time we visit Dublin.
